Anxiety Disorder is one of the associated disorders that comes with Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder. The term anxiety covers four aspects of experiences that an individual may have. This include Mental apprehension, physical tension, physical symptoms and dissociative anxiety. Anxiety disorder is divided into generalized anxiety disorder, phobic disorder and panic disorder. Each has its own characteristics and symptoms and they require different treatment. Obsessive Compulsive Disorder can also occur with ADHD and shares many of its characteristics. Substance use Disorders is also relative to ADHD. Adolescents and adults with ADHD are at high risk of developing substance use problem, most commonly with alcohol and cannabis. The reason for this may be due to an altered reward pathway in the brains of ADHD individuals. This makes the evaluation and treatment of ADHD more difficult, with serious substance misuse problems usually treated first due to their greater risks. This book also throws light on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. This is thought to be effective for the treatment of a variety of conditions, including mood, anxiety, personality, eating, substance abuse, tic, and psychotic disorders. Depression sets in when ADHD is not managed properly and this can result in suicide. Depression is a severe despondency and dejection accompanied by feeling of hopeless.
