Phonological contrastive studies of two languages investigate phonological similarities and differences of languages to use the results for special purpose. The aim of the present book is to investigate pronunciation problems of the Danes in pronouncing Persian vowels and consonants. The book gives a descriptive phonological view of Persian and Danish similarities and differences, then determines the difficulty level of the pronunciation of the Persian vowels and consonants based on the schema of hierarchy of difficulties. Researcher found that the Danes' phonetic errors are caused by transferring native patterns to the target language (Persian) which is divided into two categories: a) errors caused by transferring Danish vowel patterns, b) errors caused by transferring Danish consonant patterns.
