Nearly thirty years ago, Bodvoc went to Tibet and what started out as merely a back-packing holiday, changed his life forever. With his guide Nina, he travelled from the lowlands through the foothills and up into the mountains of Tibet. Visiting many villages, Buddhist shrines, temples and monastery along the way. During his thirty-one tour, Bodvoc was amazed at the friendliness and generosity of all those he met. From the subsistence farmers to town dwellers, from the Buddhist Monks to the city folk, his tour was indeed an enlightening experience. No small wonder that this once in a lifetime holiday ended up becoming a sort of pilgrimage, where he converted to Buddhism and has been a practising Buddhist ever since. Now many years on, Bodvoc works with adults with Special Needs. Using the skills he has learned through Buddhism teachings now as a life skills coach, helping many of those he works with to rejoin the community and lead full, active and rewarding lives.
