The Ohio State Reformatory is the mecca that Bryan and Little Alice have made annual trips to in the mission of stretching their boundaries in dark, romantic art. On the final excursion they took together, Little Alice expressed the anguish of her failing marriage through photographic story telling. Short stories pull the reader down into the darkness of despair that arises when a marriage is falling apart. Poetry reveals the raw hurt and bitterness of a betrayed heart. Personal journal entries lay bare the confusion of a life in transition.
