Dax and Drakthira enter the Myste with Trakon and Sylas by their side. They are intent on continuing their quest to figure out how to destroy the mysterious Dragon Orb created by Jessa Dragonheart and free the dragons. Once inside the grey abyss, things don't go as planned, and the party is soon split up. Trakon is led astray by what appears to be a little girl claiming to be lost, and it is up to Sylas to find and bring him back. There are many dangers in the Myste, and it takes all of his knowledge and cunning to keep the old man safe, especially since Trakon's ability to funnel earth magic makes him a valuable commodity. Along the way they pick up a fey woman who helps them with their quest, but Sylas is suspicious of her motives towards his friend and creator. Will she try to capture the old man and keep him prisoner so she can have access to his magic? Daxon is forced to come to terms with his past and accept that he is not what he seems. His struggle will lead both him and Drakthira into the depths of the past where they will discover his true origins. Once faced with the truth, will 'Thira be able to help Dax accept his dark past? Or will he be lost to her forever?
Shanlynn Walker lives in Kansas with her husband and two teenage children, but she is originally from Kentucky which seems to pop up occasionally in her books. This, in turn, led her to start wondering under what circumstances would she even want to befriend a human if she were a dragon, and the rest is history.
