"The Black Cat" is a short story by American author Edgar Allan Poe. It was first distributed in the August 19, 1843, release of The Saturday Evening Post. It is an investigation of the brain research of blame, frequently combined in examination with Poe's "The Tell-Tale Heart". In both, a killer cautiously covers his wrongdoing and trusts himself unassailable, yet in the end separates and uncovers himself, incited by a bothering token of his blame.
