Samuel J. Fell is a freelance journalist and writer based in the Byron Bay area. For the past decade he has contributed hundreds of features, Op-Eds, news pieces, reviews and profiles to a range of publications, primarily on music, arts business, travel and food. Currently a Senior Contributor to Australian roots music bible Rhythms, SJF is also a critic for The Sydney Morning Herald and Rolling Stone, as well as a regular contributor to Rolling Stone, The Big Issue and The Saturday Paper. He has also contributed to The Age, The Australian Financial Review, Crikey, The Guardian, VICE, Tracks and Cleo, among others. Concurrently, SJF is writing a history on fifty years of Australian music press; an account of a trip to the American deep south late last year; and a fiction novel.
