ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Dr. Musau WaKabongo is a mother of four and has 4 grandsons. She is originally from the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) in Central Africa. Dr. WaKabongo was born in Lubumbashi (Elizabethville). She spoke Swahili with her friends. She learned French at School. But at home, she spoke Tshiluba with her parents who were originally from the Kasai Province in the DRC. She is very passionate about teaching Tshiluba to her grandsons and other children.
Dr. WaKabongo came to the United States in the early seventies and is fluent in English and Tshiluba. She holds a Doctorate degree in Microbiology from the Medical College of Virginia. and has taught Medical Microbiology at the Des Moines Osteopathic Medical Center. She is a retired Director of Public Health Laboratory in California (Placer and Merced Counties). She is also the founding president of the Dr. Musau WaKabongo Science Foundation, Inc.
Dr. WaKabongo started writing this book in December 2012. She wanted to teach Tshiluba to her grandson Ammon who was born on Saturday, October 10, 2009. He had a strong desire to learn and loved life. Ammon passed away on Thursday, December 19, 2018 of complications from sickle cell disease. Dr. WaKabongo misses him greatly and dedicates this book to him.

Le Dr Musau WaKabongo est mre de quatre enfants et a 4 petits-fils. Elle est originaire de la Rpublique Dmocratique du Congo (RDC) en Afrique centrale. Le Dr WaKabongo est n Lubumbashi (Elizabethville). Elle a parl le Swahili avec ses amis. Elle a appris le franais l'cole. Mais la maison, elle a parl Tshiluba avec ses parents originaires de la province du Kasa en RDC. Elle est trs passionne par l'enseignement de Tshiluba ses petits-fils et d'autres enfants.
Le Dr WaKabongo est arriv aux tats-Unis D'Amrique au dbut des annes 70 et parle couramment l'anglais et le tshiluba. Elle dtient un doctorat en microbiologie du Medical College of Virginia. et a enseign la microbiologie mdicale au Des Moines Osteopathic Medical Center. Elle est directrice la retraite du Public Health Laboratory en Californie (comts de Placer et Merced). Elle est galement prsidente fondatrice de la Dr. Musau WaKabongo Science Foundation, Inc.
Le Dr WaKabongo a commenc crire ce livre en dcembre 2012. Elle voulait enseigner le tshiluba son petit-fils Ammon, n le samedi 10 octobre 2009. Il avait un fort dsir d'apprendre et aimait la vie. Ammon est dcd le jeudi 19 dcembre 2018 des complications de la drpanocytose. Le Dr WaKabongo lui manque normment et lui ddie ce livre.
