In recent years I, Elaine Morgan, have been supporting families and young people as a Career Counselor, Educational Planner and Therapeutic Consultant. In plain words, I provide guidance, not therapy, for families on sensitive topics, in challenging situations and through difficult days when their child, teen or young adult is struggling in some way. In this day and age, many parents appreciate a confidential and trustworthy "go-to" adviser they can turn to with all their school and mental health questions. That is why I founded Morgan Educational & Therapeutic Associates as a direct response to the requests I heard from families. As the Owner and Director, I personally engage each family to evaluate their individual needs and coordinate their consulting services. We provide a concierge style of services so we can respond to your unique needs. I help identify resources, schools and therapeutic treatment options that are the best fit for your child. I'm Laurie Reid, licensed marriage and family therapist, certified addictions professional and certified life coach with more than 18 years of experience working with families struggling with abuse, addiction and domestic violence. Over the past six years, I've focused specifically on working with families to combat child to parent violence, and teen aggression and abuse. Through my company, Breaking the Cycle Consulting, my team and I have been able to help more than 600 families living with this silent epidemic. Our program emphasizes the need for physical, psychological, and emotional safety for both the parent and child. Because we want to raise awareness of this issue, we decided to make available this guide for parents and correspondingly, created a deeper dive online platform of our program.
