I tell people that I'm in the business of creating happy endings because my life has been the stuff fairy tales are made of. My mother died before I was nine and my easy-going father married the prototypical wicked stepmother. She was emotionally distant and physically abusive, and, lacking henchmen to do away with me, she sent me off to Grandmother's house, where I learned to cope with the resident big bad wolf - my abusive alcoholic grandfather. And I'm still here. I spent a lot of years hiding and being quiet at home while being myself and building strength at school. When I was thirteen, my father died and I began to figure out that my rescue fantasies were just that. And I'm still here. I call myself a serial careerist who learned to see the pitfalls and potholes that get women stuck and how to avoid them. All this makes me a great coach. I know how to help people create what they want - whether it's a totally different life or a few tweaks, whether it's leadership skills or retirement planning - I can help you see into your crystal ball (that really means take a good look at yourself) and build on what's revealed. I've taught at every level from pre-school through graduate school, consulting, doing faculty development and teaching coaching. I've learned something from all of these experiences, been successful, got fired, got bored and walked away. And I'm still here. I am an International Association for Coaching Certified Coach with a doctorate in Adult Learning and Leadership, and Masters' Degrees in Counseling and Educational Psychology. My Women Living for Today and Tomorrow workshops were featured in The New York Times, and my teleclass series Mapping Midlife-Sensational at Sixty has helped energize the lives of many. I love traveling, still exploring New York, enjoying movies and theater, discovering new restaurants, cooking for friends, meeting with my Transitions Network group, or spending time with friends and family, especially my handsome and talented Godson. And even when I'm doing all these other things, I love taking a pause to smile at the success of my clients, knowing that they too are living their ideal life. I teach in the Columbia Coaching Certificate Program. I coach women who are creating their ideal lives. When you're ready, I'm right here.
