Mr. Cantoni provides his perspective based on his many years of business experience. He is a past president and CEO of four medical imaging companies, both public and private. He has invested his own money and has utilized venture capital as he co-founded three of these companies. In the book, the U.S. is treated as an impoverished society, leading the way to discussion of how to lift folks out of poverty. An extensive discussion of the role of the living wage is woven throughout the narrative.

Mr. Cantoni is a Silicon Valley entrepreneur. He is a graduate of Santa Clara University (BS) and Stanford University (MS). He has a broad background of work experience including time served in the U.S. Army. He is a founder/co-founder of three Medical Imaging companies, having served as president and CEO. He has financed business start-ups with his own funds, and has raised venture capital. He has taken one of the companies public. Mr. Cantoni has served on the board of directors of several private and public companies, the advisory board of a non-profit hospital and the board of Regents of Santa Clara University.
