Pamela Locklin-Dixon is the divorced daughter of one of the principle families noted in this book . She grew up in Burkburnett and chose to leave the area upon completion of High School. She obtained a BSN degree from Texas Woman's University and later a MN from Louisiana State University. She returned to Burkburnett in 1990. She has worked in various roles of academia since, including as the Assistant Professor of Maternal Child Health at Midwestern State University, Psychiatric Nurs for the Allred Maximum Security Prison, and as substitute teacher in the local schools of Burkburnett. Now she actively volunteers for her Church and local non profits. She also continues to give to her first love - nursing, by contracting her services out as an online Academic Coach to the Unitersity of Texas at Arlington. She has worked tirelessly to preserve the memories of her family and friends. Now than she has returned to Burkburnett, she foresees no reason to leave the town that she has come to love.
