The world of the gods is in deep unrest, and an unlikely Chicago foursome have been bestowed with the power to end the troubles for good. In the first of seven tournaments, they must take on a most fearsome array of the gods' beasts in order to prevent history from repeating

itself and putting human civilization at risk.

Working alongside Michael, Gabriel, and wayward band of fallen angels, the group learns to traverse

their teenage landscape of friendship, love, and self-discovery when they embark on a journey that leads them to an exciting revelation. They're left to dig deep and find out more about the mythology they're reading about in class, and how it links to their own long-lost heritages.
