But the importance Italians give to family, friends and food is what makes living here so special. The joy people get when preparing and sharing home cooked meals with loved ones is the central theme of Italian life. No matter where my stories might take you, it is the heartfelt importance each and every host or hostess puts into their meal that makes dining in Tuscany a daily event. I have chosen to divide the book into four sections (the four seasons). Each season has it own stories, folklore and traditions, along with seasonal recipes. Remember, the ethos of Tuscan cuisine is fresh and seasonal. Readers will be peeking into Tuscan kitchens, dining rooms and pantries, giving them an authentic taste of Tuscan life. Although many of the recipes are scattered throughout the stories, I have also placed menus/recipes at the end of each season for convenience. So, why not bring an 'air' of Tuscany into your home.
