Beckoned by Water Called to Other Shores

John Hutchinson, teacher and principal for thirty-five years, later educational consultant for iDiscoveri in India and the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, now spends his time traveling, writing, and enjoying his ten grandchildren. Having a passion for learning-by-doing, John built his own kayak, carved bows in the native American tradition, and erected high swings and zip lines on his property. His home too reflects this belief with his paintings, carved decoys, and restored furniture. He also enjoys camping, hiking, kayaking, and of course writing poetry. John lives in Parkton, Maryland with his wife. He has three other books in print: A Taste of the Sun, Sitting in the Bloom of Us, and Adirondack Sojourn.
