Author is one of the eleven gurus who took over in Hare Krishna movement after the death of the ISKCON Founder, A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada. He is one of the participants in the Guru Reform of the mid '80s when, due to conspiracy or a revolt of North American Temple Presidents in 1985, the balance of power shifted, leading to resignation of a majority of former gurus in ISKCON. Satsvarupa das Goswami is principally known for his writing on the principles and practice of spiritual life and reflections on the life of Srila Prabhupada. His six-volume biography of Srila Prabhupada, Srila Prabhupada Lilamrta, is one of his most important works and is the flagship of ISKCON literature, distributed in millions in various languages around the globe. Other of his popular titles include Japa Reform Notebook, Begging for the Nectar of the Holy Name, Entering the Life of Prayer and Prabhupada Nectar.
