Alex Monceaux holds an MA - English and an M. Ed - Human Development, teaches English as a Second Language at TIEP at Lamar, Lamar University, Integrated Reading & Writing and Composition at LIT. In addi-tion to serving on the TexTESOL Board of Directors, he is services as editor for TESOL International's Materials Writers Interest Section (MWIS), Co-Chair, By-Laws Committee for the Texas Counseling Association, a State Af-filiate of the American Counseling Association, and serves on the Editorial Board for the Journal of Language Learning and Teaching for the 21st Century. Other than teaching and counseling, Alex enjoys researching, writing, and presenting at various conferences. Some of the various areas of research he is currently involved in are: As-sessing Self-Regulation in Students, Relationship between Assessments, Student Stress, and Student Achievement, Complexities in ELL Identity Formation, Formative/Summative Assessments, Use of Repetition and Managed Stress for Content Mastery. Some of Alex's hobbies include hiking, travel, canoeing and rafting, and spending time with his family.
