Ante Gugo was born October 10, 1963, in Knin, Croatia. He began working as a journalist upon his arrival to Zagreb for his studies. In 1989, he was politically persecuted due to his open criticism of the Communist regime in Yugoslavia. During the armed aggression on Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, he was active as a war reporter. After the end of the war for Croatia's independence, he was employed as a political commentator and newspaper editor. He is the author of several films about environmental protection and tourism. He has also written scripts for comics, as well as a children's novel. In the Eye of the Storm: Political, Diplomatic and Military Struggle for Croatian Independence is Gugo's third book in the field of political non-fiction.
