The author considers himself to be an engineer and innovator with a social and environmental conscience. For many years now he has been giving talks on Global Warming problems and overall solutions to it, and also on renewable energy solutions. Not only has he done much in his own life to reduce his carbon footprint, he has also attempted to provide renewable energy solutions - solar, wind and geothermal. However, much more needs to be done. The solutions are now visible and look doable - global society can get there with a combination of energy efficiency savings, renewable energy and bio-fuels. The author has also done volunteer work on environmental, development, high speed rail and social issues with non-governmental organizations and groups focusing on the US, South Asia, India and the World. His interests include developing new products, renewable energy to solve the world's energy problems, music, poetry, and literature. He is the author of the book, "Rethinking Progress - Towards a Creative Transformation of Global Society", Daanish Books, New Delhi, India, 2005. That book provides an update and analysis of where we stand today mainly terms of Progress as a whole, but also specifically in terms of environment, development, finance, and planetary and human history. He has also published a collection of about 28 poems, titled, "Our Only Home - Poems for Planet Earth", and is in the process of publishing a book titled, "History of our Earth", which is combination of poems and beautiful watercolors.
