Princeton University student Idir N. Aitsahalia's first name means "life" in Kabyle, a native language of North Africa's indigenous Berber people. Born in Chicago to a French mother and an Algerian father, Idir grew up in an academic family and knows a thing or two about college campuses. He has traveled to over fifty countries and speaks nine languages. In his spare time, he enjoys collecting vintage LEGO models, discovering new ethnic foods, and singing opera in the shower. He lives in Princeton, New Jersey and has worked in several startup companies before going to Princeton, where he studies Operations Research and Financial Engineering. Idir is the author of Northport Books(R)'s first publication, Slightly out of Tune, a contemporary coming-of-age novel about a brilliant but socially awkward Ivy League student suspended for alleged international crimes. With the release of his debut novel, Idir plans to launch the Northport Saga, a series of novels and short stories set at Northport University, a fictional Ivy League campus in New York State. He is also working on Beyond the College Bubble: Discovering Princeton, a travel guide to the area around his home campus, and several picture books satirizing contemporary college life in the United States.
