Dr. Michael M. Gilbert, DPT (Doctor of Physical Therapy) was born and raised in Harrisburg, PA. Upon graduating high school Dr. Gilbert earned a bachelors degree in Kinesiology with a medical emphasis from The Pennsylvania State University. Dr. Gilbert earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Pittsburgh. During training Dr. Gilbert completed multiple internships specializing in treatment of the spine along with a host of other orthopedic conditions. Dr. Gilbert has worked in many settings over the past 10 years with outpatient orthopedics being his preferred area of expertise. He has worked during training in the UPMC center for sports medicine alongside the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates facilities. Beyond that Dr. Gilbert has attended many continuing education classes on the spine with a primary focus on the manual hands on treatment of the spine. He is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association, The Orthopedic Physical Therapy Association, and a Member of the Private Practice Section. Dr. Gilbert established Gilbert Physical Therapy in 2012 with his business partner Chad Madden. Since then, Gilbert PT has been able to enhance the lives of many people who have struggled with back pain and other conditions. We have quickly become the leader in central PA for the treatment of back pain. Dr. Gilbert hosts monthly back pain seminars/workshops for the public and speaks extensively around the area on back pain. He has been featured on local TV educating the public on various topics in physical therapy.
