Mike Hazelton, founder of 20 Days Mathematics, has taught mathematics at all at most grade levels, For more than 35 years, Michael has taught children ranging, from elementary through high school, led professional development sessions, spoken at educational conferences statewide, written children's books, and created mathematics resources for teachers and administrators. He has fully implemented mathematics standards at most grade levels, thus giving him insight as to which standards students should spend more time and more fully master, in order to experience success with four years of high school mathematics courses. Mike Hazelton is the founding President of New Education for Communities (NEC) and School for Integrated Academics and Technology (SIATech), which received a Golden Bell Award, 2005. He has more than 30 years of successful public school experience with the Oceanside Unified School District and Guajome Park Academy. Mr. Hazelton has been a school principal and instructional leader at an elementary school, continuation high school, and comprehensive high school. He holds California Administrative credentials, and math, technology and science credentials. All of his experience has been in school settings with significant emphasis in serving disadvantaged youth. In each of these settings he has demonstrated student performance improvements in math and language skills along with improved attendance and school safety. He has served as the west coast liaison for Harvard University's Principal's Center and has served as a director for the Advisory Board for two years.. In addition, Michael has been a co owner of Preschools and a private, independent school in Southern California. Currently, he an Adjunct Professor of Education at the University of Southern California and has been for over four years.
