Chaplain Gordon James Klingenschmitt, PhD Chaplain Gordon James Klingenschmitt, Ph.D., D.D. is the founder and servant of The Pray in Jesus Name Project, leading a network that reaches 80,000 U.S. pastors annually and 30,000 subscribers daily who have helped him deliver over 4 Million fax petitions to the U.S. Congress, defending pro-life, pro-marriage, pro-Israel and pro-Jesus liberties. As a former U.S. Navy Chaplain, he was instrumental in standing up for the rights of military chaplains to pray publicly "in Jesus' name." In 2006 he was vindicated by the U.S. Congress, who rescinded the bad prayer policy which had wrongly inhibited his free speech. Dr. Klingenschmitt has served as a Bible teacher for the past twenty-one years, on 200+ radio shows, in 100+ churches, college campuses and military bases in 27 states and overseas. He is a certified Master Instructor and Academic Instructor School graduate, having taught Quality Air Force management courses for five years. Dr. Klingenschmitt also served as an Air Force missile officer, intelligence officer, and management consultant advising numerous commanding generals over 45,000 employees. An expert marksman with a parachutist badge, he volunteered for a demotion and a pay cut to become Navy Chaplain, and was honorably discharged. He has advised or served six U.S. Presidential Candidates. Dr. Klingenschmitt is an award-winning published author of several academic works, including Discerning the Spirits in Ecclesial Ethics: Ignatius of Loyola and the Pneumatological Foundations of Ecclesiology. He has been interviewed on the Christian Broadcasting Network, Hannity & Colmes, PBS, NPR, Fox News, CNN, MSNBC and Trinity Broadcasting Network. Dr. Klingenschmitt earned his Bachelor of Science degree in political science from the United States Air Force Academy, a Master of Business Administration, Master of Divinity and Doctor of Philosophy degrees from Regent University. He also received an honorary Doctor of Divinity degree from Military Bible Association. Dr. Klingenschmitt resides in Colorado Springs, Colorado with his wife of 21 years, Mary, and may be contacted via prayinjesusname.org.
