Before the Armageddon of Trumpism in 2016there was the Revolt of Real America in 2018 (really)Sometime in the not-so-distant future...the birth of Real America is not without complications. Award-winning writer & former political reporter Michael McCord's satirical tale of American political dystopia remains ahead of its time. Set in an eerily familiar alternative universe, The Execution Channel: A Political Fable anticipates the spectacle of a Trump-like political catastrophe.Readers travel to a renegade Real America in 2018 where citizens celebrate the mysterious economic religion of the Galtian Imperatives (inspired by Ayn Rand, the goddess of Real American liberty). Real America also strives to eliminate the very idea of government to create 'prosperity for all who matter' (Guardians of Galt) while crushing the moochers of the world. The parade is led by a Real American Texas Gov. Lawrence C. "Demon Seed" Bowie, a former used car salesman and incoherent political genius. Bowie is adored for leading the popular 'War on the Poor' campaign of economic destruction and keeping a campaign promise to give his people a government really worth hating. When Bowie stumbles into a reality TV scheme of public executions, a masterstroke of public sector plunder for private profit glory, his legend as the true founding father of Real America is assured. This imaginative, subversive & prophetic book aspires, as Lewis Carroll in Alice In Wonderland so eloquently put it, to believe six impossible things at once: if not before breakfast then certainly by supper.Laugh & be amazed. Hysteria is optional.
