Dr. Christa Banton is a social service administrator, psychotherapist, and educator in the higher learning community. With degrees in liberal arts, psychology and education she sees things through an integration of these three areas. In 2010 while working on her dissertation she was exposed to the K-12 educational system. It was during this exposure that she came to realize that the system of education was set up to present topics in line with a standardized format, a one size fits all modality. However, after completing her dissertation it was clear that certain personality traits fit certain styles of teaching outside of established theories of learning styles. Dr. Banton has completed several book reviews for the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT), and has presented on the topics of achievement motivation, integration of community, and group home reform. Since 2008 she has been teaching in the field of child welfare, human services, financial case management, and psychology at the University of Phoenix, University of Riverside, PCWTA San Diego State University, and University of Riverside Extension Program.
