Dayton Conway has a new approach to job seeking that pares down meaningless tasks and helps the job seeker focus on productive activities. This method is designed to put the unemployed back on the job in one half the time as traditional methods. When Dayton left the US Air Force as a senior staff officer in 1992, it took him a year and half to find a job. Since then he has worked for 18 years in the careers business. This experience has given him a broad, practical perspective about job seeking. He served for the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment for six years, during which time he worked with some 5,000 job seekers. During the period he also conducted employment case management for disabled military veterans. He then served for five years as Vice President for a national career consulting firm where he worked with managers and executives transitioning between jobs. In this capacity he wrote resumes and letters for executive clients, and counseled successfully with hundreds of business leaders and professionals on job seeking methodologies. Since 2005 he has run his own executive search and recruiting business (Global Recruiters, Denver) where he has worked with employer clients in three different industries. In doing so he has interviewed over 1,000 job seekers or prospective job seekers, and reviewed more than 10,000 resumes. In all of this, Dayton has developed a number of concepts and fresh perspectives that permit job seekers to be much more successful. Some of these job seeking methods and principles are known within certain industries, others are original with him. His methods are designed to assist a person in the job market conserve time in the job search process, make the search more effective, and successfully come to grips with the problems almost every job seeker faces.
