I was born at Townlands Hospital in Henley-on-Thames in 1958, went to school locally, and did my nurse training at the Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading. In 1992 I completed my District Nurse training at Bulmershe, part of Reading University. I have spent my career nursing adult patients, initially in hospital, and the remaining twenty three years in the community. I have been with the NHS all this time, and have a good insight to how it has grown and developed. For the last five years of nursing, I held a post as Community Matron in West Reading.
