To Begin Again

Shelly has spent the past year since her father died trying to put her life back together. But, she, her mom, and Shelly's horse Sunshine had been making the best of things. But then Shelly's mom has news that changes everything. Shelly's mom is getting married to a man Shelly hasn't even met.

Shelly knows that stepdads are the worst and she can't imagine calling anyone else her dad. Especially someone rude enough to ask her mom to marry him without even thinking about her daughter. When Shelly first meets Nick, her mom's fianc, she can barely speak to him.

Everywhere Shelly turns Nick is making a good impression on people. She can't stand the thought that he might be a good guy and hates that everyone, even her friends, seem to like Nick right away. Shelly can see that Nick makes her mom happier than she has been in a long time.
