Yisrael Kestenbaum had a long career as a pastoral educator and chaplain. He has semicha (rabbinic ordination) from the Ner Israel Rabbinical College in Baltimore and holds two Masters Degrees, one in Philosophy, and one in Education from the University of Western Ontario. Now retired, Kestenbaum is an avid writer, and authors a weekly blog, The Torah and the Self. He has also published many articles in the field of pastoral care.
